The Natural Waterfront

New York's natural waterfronts are comprised of a rich diversity of resources that support economic productivity, are a source of scenic beauty and provide recreational enjoyment. These waterfronts are an integral part of larger ecosystems that sustain and complement human activities throughout the State.

As you seek to make the most of your waterfront, you must recognize the importance of maintaining natural coastal processes, protecting and improving water quality and improving the management of living resources and protecting ecological integrity.
